Nicht weit von Santa Ponsa und Port Adriano findet sich ein weiteres Naturschutzgebiet. Die Felseninsel El Toro ragt unübersehbar im Südwesten von Mallorca aus dem Meer und hat für Taucher einiges zu bieten. Mit einer Tauchtiefe bis zu 40 Metern und Sichtweiten von über 30 Metern warten die 6 unterschiedlichen Tauchplätze rund um die beeindruckende Felsnadel mit einigen echten Highlights auf, die sowohl für Anfänger als auch Fortgeschrittene traumhafte Tauchgänge garantieren.
Nach nur wenigen Minuten Fahrt mit dem Tauchboot hat man von einer der umliegenden Tauchbasen, die eine spezielle Lizenz zum Betauchen des Naturschutzgebiets benötigen, die kleine Insel erreicht. Hier ist die Fischerei von Mai bis Oktober komplett verboten und in der restlichen Zeit streng reglementiert. Das Ergebnis ist unübersehbar.
Das glasklare Wasser offenbart sofort nach dem Abtauchen die ganze Bandbreite mediterraner Meeresfauna. Zackenbarsche, Oktopoden, Muränen und Barrakuda Schwärme durch die man mitten hindurch tauchen kann, vergisst man nicht mehr so schnell.
El Toro ist ein weiteres Beispiel für die absoluten Spitzen-Tauchplätze Mallorcas. Nur selten findet man im Mittelmeer noch einen solchen überwältigenden Fischreichtum und eine ähnliche Bandbreite an Spezies der Unterwasserfauna. Verbunden mit den kristallklaren Wasser und Wassertemperaturen bis zu 29 Grad laden die Tauchplätze rund um El Toro zu entspannten Tauchgängen ein von denen man noch Monate lang nach dem Urlaub zehren kann.
